Accepting bitterness is the leap of faith in the religion of tea. #tea I try to follow people who are either friends of mine or people I learn things from. (Delightfully, there is overlap between the two categories!) If I get the impression that you’re here mainly to display your moral or aesthetic superiority, I will try to ignore you.

Seen on 8th Ave. in Sunset Park, Brooklyn’s biggest Chinatown: If you hire a Chinese sign painter, you can expect nice hanzi, but be sure to check the English spelling! (福春超市 = Fu Chun Supermarket)

Do you have a yen for creating your own role-playing game? But you’re bummed out because there are already so many RPGs out there that you won’t score many points when you announce your game to the Fediverse? Don’t despair! You can multiply your Fedi project points by the coolness of the retro programming language you code it in. :awesome: I think you can see where this is going. Write your RPG in RPG! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_RPG

I’ve been paying attention to the progress of Graham Platner, the rough-around-the-edges working-class-hero type candidate for US senator in Maine. I just got a fund-raising text from his campaign asking for five bucks on the premise that enough small contributions could counter the effect of big money coming from billionaires *and AIPAC*. Saying that, he's obviously burned...

If the USA still had a robust press with investigative reporters worth their salaries, we would know what kind of automation on Trump’s iPhone generates “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”.

I took on a bunch more crassicolumna teas, encouraged by my results with the aged yabao “puer”. I agree with @baptnz that the yabao black tea cake is a standout. The dark buds yield a pale (for hongcha) liquor that has a pleasant degree of bitterness. It also has something I’m a sucker for; a cooling, almost mentholic, quality. @tea
