  Today's deep dive: The International Celestial Reference System https://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/ICRS_doc provides a good (scientific) overview that goes into more details than the wikipedia page. I find it quite interesting to note, that something like, which celestial to use and how to use them is not something that is completely done, even today. Even though we have been doing these observations for centuries and have very precise measurements for almost two centuries. #astronomy #time...

  About the only good thing about #rampocalypse is that people suddenly remembered that neither memory nor storage comes for free. I again see people pushing for software with lower memory usage. Which is unusual when for the past 3 decades people basically argued that 6 months down the road a hardware upgrade will solve all memory and storage problems. #silverlining #positivethinking
