  Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time - a film I haven't seen since the early 90s. It does follow on nicely from watching the original Masters of the Universe last Monday, as it also features our swords and sorcery hero travelling to the dangerous world of $CALIFORNIA_CITY, This Monday's #MonsterdonCatchup is late as someone slept through their alarm. Also going with the second film because we watched In the Mouth of Madness just recently.

  LB: I like the work of IconFactory, and I thought it would be useful to have an idea of what one might charge. (Although this is probably why, if I do end up releasing apps myself, that I may have to brush up my Inkscape skills 😅)

  Just started on Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I mean, I'm already a fan of several of his series, but none of them feature a protagonist I'm innately inclined to be quite so biased towards 😉 "Skotch, Raccoon, PI" Already loving the world-building which introduces this world of augmented animals. https://libro.fm/audiobooks/9781250446121

  Ufff - I'm only into town twice a week with German lessons, but why would I want even a hybrid job in the city when the S-Bahn has problems almost every week when I'm trying to get home 🙃

  Late to the Monsterdon party - but heck, I'm up early, and I can sorta scroll back 5 hours on the hashtag to follow allow with y'all 😀 I haven't watched Solarbabies since I was a kid, but remember several elements of it - the surgical bot, and the hallucinations used to torture someone. I seem to have misremembered in-line skates - I could have sworn this was the movie that introduced them to me. Maybe it was Hackers (which would make more sense, as I saw Rollerblades as a 90s thi...

  Darn, shame I missed out on #Monsterdon - any excuse to watch werewolf movies, and especially an (admittedly disappointing) adaptation of the Whitley Strieber book, The Wolfen, which I thoroughly enjoyed as a kid. The film is something I enjoy sharing with Werewolf: The Apocalypse peeps. Looking forward to seeing how it went down 😅

  LB: I did receive that GOG newsletter in Germany too and I did have a WTF reaction on seeing the subject... 🙃 Tbh I was already getting increasingly fed up of the FOMO-inducing "here's a discount code but we won't tell you what it's for exactly and it will expire in 24h" , then if you were to make a purchase, they'd immediately follow up with another email informing you of all the other games you should buy.

  Well it had to be done 😉 We ended up going with the 4K77 project version because it's a far better image than the begrudgingly provided non-anamorphic non-special-edition DVD they included with the special boxset back in the day.

  Someone needs to find the Google employee who added a share button into Chrome which doesn't copy a link to a page but instead wraps it in a trackable Google share link (which often doesn't resolve, possibly thanks to anti-tracking plug-ins) - and shake them the atomic bonds between their molecules fail 😈

  "He made him an offer he couldn't refuse." Watching The Godfather for the very first time, but of course it's a film which has influenced so much media I've watched since I was a kid, from The Dogfather on The Pink Panther Show, to Mr Big in Zootopia 🙂

  Gaseous Spirit Jaguar with Pan Pipe accompaniment to the rescue! 😂 Afraid I struggled to get into this movie, for all it stars Bill "Lonestar" Pullman and was directed by Wes Craven. There's a drinking game for every time Zakes Mokae's character leaps from out of frame tho.

  A local gay friend came over wearing this tee, and I had the ginger ale he had suggested I get in to drink. Of course I didn't realize both were a reference, but I am 50% through Heated Rivalry now. ☺️
