The moment you talk with someone not working on tech, it becomes pretty clear how low tech fluency is. Which is one of many many reasons we need more tech policy advisors to protect people from companies taking advantage of citizens lack of fluency

Company: we want you all using AI as much as possible to improve your productivity Me: hey AI, can you check that meeting and see if I was being annoying

LinkedIn is always offering me this type of content now: “Over the last few months, I've personally shipped 36 PRs and contributed 43K+ lines of code.“ - designer The question I would like to ask but won’t ask: Is the code actually any good though? Otherwise you’re just adding noise and slop

The last 4 years have led to less accessibility and less meaningful systemic support for disabled people. I’m still figuring out how to feel about it, but one things for sure, I refuse to stop talking about this or making work accessible To hell to the ableists skyboxcritics.com/2026/07/28/t... https://skyboxcritics.com/2026/07/28/the-vanishing-art-of-disability-reporting/

I think I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t super care what people think. Everyone’s got an opinion about who you should be or how you should be. None of them are right for you, and all people have agendas. Figure out your own agenda and focus on what you want ya know?

In my journey to figure out what I’m feeling related to my work lately, I realized I still love design, coding, building What I don’t like is this era of it. The culture and harm So I guess I realized I’m mourning It would be safer not to talk about it but I’ve never been good at hiding feelings

Companies are using AI to create podcast style summaries of emails and meetings. All I can think of is a room full of tech bros like “Joe Rogan but for your meetings” Which makes my soul decays within me

Remember me too? How about the Epstein files? Remember these before you give some BS argument about Platners innocence and the justice system ever actually helping the victims of SA.

Anytime a special interest rant of mine queues up I look at my partner and I’m like I’m sorry you’re gonna have to sit down for a min. And my partner sits and listens patiently while I rant. Today’s rant was about the extreme inaccuracy and racial/gender bias of BMI as a health measurement.

Regularly I’ll go out to a nice place, a restaurant or store, and someone will see me with my bright blue hair and tattoos and make a very grumpy face. It makes me wanna ham it up and be like “boo!” I’m so scary clearly lol

Partner: the Seattle light rail is relying on color alone in these lights to indicate its end point which isn’t accessible Me: ACTUALLY they are paring that with labels so it would pass compliance however I agree that they should maybe have one dashed and another solid to be more clear.

I don’t think I realized exactly how much of my love of making art was sapped from me with AI. It’s not like I intentionally made that choice, it just felt like I couldn’t share my work anymore. I didn’t want it to be fed into AI to train it. So I stopped sharing, but then I stopped making too.

I think it was reasonable to always be skeptical of someone who has Nazi tattoos, even if he’s “reformed.” Once again: why was he our only option? What about the many not ex Nazis who are also likely more qualified and progressive?

A lot of folks at XBOX are impacted by layoffs today, some of whom I know are majorly involved in accessible gaming. Hire them.
