RE: https://23.social/@stefan/116998161103381907 It’s a great idea to simplify best path selection and remove the origin evaluation.

Ofcom blocks Openreach’s “Incremental New to OR” offer: up to £9.50/month per full fibre customer above an ISP’s normal sign-up rate, aimed at the connections altnets are winning instead. Right call. It shouldn’t have been proposed at all. Mutualise Openreach: If OR were a mutual owned by its ISP customers, BT included, this idea doesn’t survive its first meeting. The discount would be their own money, spent making their other suppliers less viable. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadb...

I saw an invitation to an upcoming women in telecoms event and wanted to share: https://commscouncil.uk/women-in-telecoms/ We all benefit when our industry becomes more representative. I’ve seen it myself: the best decisions come from rooms where not everyone thinks the same way. Better outcomes for our users, more robust strategies for our businesses. So events like this matter — share it with someone who should be in the room.

RE: https://mastodon.com.br/@xkcd/116568746049295521 Facts. This chart is missing one extra case: you google the error message and find your own blog/usenet post/etc from a few years ago. Happened to me when at ebuyer years ago, when I had some megaraid cards that never worked that well with Linux; fortunately the post contained a fix. The earliest clue that my own memory is terrible.

@RadishTM@mastodon.social Chin up, lad, overnight the most reform-y councils counted and whilst it’s a shitshow and I don’t recognise many of my fellow countrymen again this morning, the ratio should improve as today progresses.
