Another ground Labyrinth complete. They're always easy but this one was unfortunately extra short because I accidentally picked the correct direction right at the start (left). So even after I cleared it I went and ran through the right side as well. The rewards you get for doing these are never great, I just like maze. To get to the sky Labyrinth I had to do another set of sky islands to get close enough to just get over there. That was another rotating orb one. #TotK

Ended up playing later than usual because I wanted to get as much done in one go as possible. Which means I did the plot necessary electric sky islands. I now know why I didn't remember them at all - they're very bland and forgettable, especially with my electric blocking helmet. Then with Mineru's mask we went into the Depths and now I remembered the factories. Because I remembered how much I hated doing them. And I hated doing them again. #TotK

I have updated the 'FFXIV + Reshade on Linux' blog post again with more information from another reader who graciously emailed me their solution to the missing d3dcompile_47.dll file. Ironically I haven't logged in since February and cancelled my sub, but the post is still getting very steady traffic from search engines so I feel obliged to keep it at least mostly up to date. Feel free to share it with anybody who would be interested. https://anarchaeopteryx.bearblog.dev/2026-02-08-...

I bought myself one more little reward that arrived today. A new Casio F-91W. It's not like they're really expensive but the black and gold will look good with anything. I used to have a white one maybe a decade or more ago but in the process of changing the battery I couldn't get it back together properly. Someone who knows what they're doing (and has the patience for fiddly little stuff) could probably fix it.

Yes, finally rolled the credits. Raidou saved the girl and saved the world. Had to look up two little puzzles on the way to the final boss fight, thanks to GameFAQs as usual. Then a four phase final boss fight that honestly wasn't too bad. I almost died once but since I wasn't conserving items I just continually healed Raidou while the demons kept attacking. The plot ended up being wackier than I expected, but it ties up nicely. #Raidou

The jazzy music throughout and the Taisho vibe is undeniably cool and the whole game revolves around ideas of changes between eras and generations, changing the past and the future, accepting reality or rejecting it. Its not really That Deep and the characters are also a bit shallow but honestly I'm not looking to a SMT game to make me cry and feel things. You get to run around with your demons, that's good enough for me. #Raidou

I've entered the last dungeon. The music seems vaguely familiar and its a sort of teleport maze. There are a lot of NPCs around that are making reference to other SMT games and the teleport sound effect is almost definitely the same as in SMT1 and SMT3. What I am not enjoying is having to right all the games bosses again to progress. I didn't enjoy the fights the first time... Also had to fight Asura. So I've done like five boss fights in an hour. #Raidou

Started another puzzle. Oxford by KJ Lewis. Kind of a Where's Waldo thing with little details amid famous locations in Oxford. But the pieces that are hardest to put together are the top sky ones that are all blended together the way watercolours do. #JigsawPuzzle

Finished off Chapter 11 tonight by sending my demon (Arahibaki) and Gouto up on a rocket to the satellite. Arahibaki was picked because it was hinted a demon with a lot of resistances would be good and it worked out great. You're supposed to fight an angel demon while destroying parts of the power core, but Arahibaki just shrugged off the attacks. Satellite blew up, giant mecha god shut down, world saved? Nope, there's another one and some more time travel needed. #Raidou

Gouto revealed that he is actually the first, real, Raidou Kuzunoha which explains some things but not why he's in the body of a cat but that's the least wacky thing going on in this plot so I'll let it slide. I also did a long, annoying fight against Beezelbub who just kept firing off Megidola while I tried to get my demons to actually attack him and not the mooks he keeps summoning. Got there eventually. #Raidou

I know as disabled people we often talk about having spoons or spell slots to manage, but I swear I actually literally have a set number of things I can remember to do in a day and if I add one another one will slip off the routine daily to do list without me even realizing. This morning a certain chronic health problem flared up and I realized I hadn't been keeping up with my nightly ointment application - about since I started having to take a (disgusting) liquid stomach med at night.

I feel like I've had a hectic day even though I haven't actually accomplished that much. I just had to send a discord message and send an email after I got up. Then I went to meet up with the person who was buying some stuff from me. She was a real chatty Cathy, reminds me of my aunts. Then I went to the charity shop, got groceries, came home, unpacked groceries, put laundry in washer.

Fought and acquired Alice after a fun little side quest. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, she doesn't get her Die For Me skill in this game, just regular Mamudoon. Also did the next step in the 100 demon procession quest line on the 9th floor of the Training Hall. I suppose the final battle will be in the next chapter. #Raidou

#FantasyLifei It is finished! So I am publicly launching my Ginormosia FAQ & Data Project. I know the audience for this game is pretty small by now, but hopefully this ends up being useful to somebody somewhere eventually. I might add a few more bits and pieces but the core data on all the monsters, resources, events, and rank up life quests are complete barring small oversights. https://fli-ginormosia.bearblog.dev/

Finished the chapter pretty quickly. The dungeons are much shorter in this game than I expect them to be. I'm glad I overlevelled though, the final boss Sikuna-Hitona was very very hard. I've never had so many demons die in one fight. I don't know what gave me the impression that this game would be more grounded than the Persona games, the plot has been absolutely wacky. The hiruko fuse together into a mecha made from a battleship that is powered by a space laser. Okay. #Raidou

Just some more side quests and levelling and fusions and making swords. Raidou is at lv 64 but demons are lagging behind. We can auto-battle all the enemies on the 8th floor of the Training Hall, but we can't go into the 9th floor so we probably should be fine to continue the story, but some of the side quests were quite hard? I can never tell when I'm at the appropriate level in this game. I think to continue we need to go back to the Naval HQ. #Raidou
