OK much as I am sulking that I am still ill, I am also very relieved I didn't drag myself to the Eagle last night, because today would've been awful

Day 2 of a thankfully mild flu which I should see the back of before long. Thank heavens I booked today off work else I would've had to use a suck day ๐ตโ๐ซ

I am a little concerned I'm on a slow walk into a depressive valley, and really who could be surprised? I am increasingly concerned that the way I've managed to not be depressed for a decent chunk of time is by simply Not Thinking About all the things in my life which could depress me. Which doesn't feel healthy? So maybe depression coming, but maybe it's time? OTOH maybe it's just an effect of the cytokine cascade induced by this viral infection.

Ochre spring in the ancient woodland in Sheffield. Smell of iron and sulphur coming off it - apparently the iron is carried bound to sulphur in anoxic conditions, and as soon as it hits the air the two dissociate. Clear waters smelling of blood and staining the earth red is a pretty potent atavistic mix. A good recipe for old gods.

LOTS OF YOU will be interested in this. Rogan is an AIDS denialist and we might be in for another wave of that bullshit, via Rogan and JFK. Also just go sub to the podcast, they're good people doing good stuff โค๏ธ "Skeptics with a K: Episode #455 Marsh looks at the history of AIDS denialism, and its apparent burgeoning resurgence through the world's most listened to podcaster: Joe Rogan. I've listened to two Sensible Centrist podcasts today and they've both mentioned that Hannah's speech "talked about billionaires but nothing on the environment", and I've just realised they think billionaires and social justice aren't green issues, which should just be fly tipping and rivers.
