  This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but a bunch of years ago, I saw some gameplay of a (pixel art?) RPG starting out in a pretty dark and foggy (harbour?) town and graveyard. It had a very interesting combat and character progression system and might have been by an Eastern European developer? Does that ring a bell for anyone? It’s driving me mad. 😅 #indiedev #rpg

  My partner and I wanted to play a little #GuildWars2 today to wind down. She gets to play on my nice desktop PC running #Linux. We turn it on, it does its updates, patches the game and is ready. Meanwhile, I’m dusting off my old Windows gaming laptop. Try turning it on. Nothing happens. So I try different chargers. Still nothing. Might be a hardware fault. But I can’t shake this feeling that Windows had something to do with it. 😅

  I just finished reading “Brimstone Angels” by Erin M. Evans. It was my first book set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe—which might explain the lingering confusion that accompanied me throughout the read. Despite that, I think the novel was approachable enough overall, and while not deeply original, I still found it refreshing after my most recent more modern reads. I just wish I didn’t feel like I was missing the larger context so much. 4/10, fantasy I guess. #bookstodon #miniBookReview

  Prices of one of my hosting providers going up another 15% to 20%, effective immediately. 🫠 I don’t like where this is headed. You can’t buy hardware, you can’t rent it. How long before hosting a personal website or a Mastodon instance becomes prohibitively expensive for most people? 😔

  So #Zed reached 1.0 today. Cool milestone, but also kind of sad that #Vue support is still completely broken without manual patching. 😩 Still, I really like this editor. I prefer it vastly over VS Code/Codium. FIngers crossed they don’t ensloppify further, get acquired and killed just like #Atom did… 🤞

  Kind of wild what an optimistic perspective 2013’s “Her” had on AI and humanity. They accurately predicted people muttering to themselves with an earpiece in in public. Along with having someone else write your most important messages for you. Then again, the fantasy AI depicted is a billion times more sophisticated than what we have. Even if we’re being indoctrinated to think we’re nearly there left and right. It’s definitely worth watching.

  Yeah so that laptop I used for gaming is definitely dead. 🫠 After my tools arrived today, I tried booting it with a disconnected battery, but no luck. The power adapter seems to work, but I can’t test it because its proprietary. 🙄 Tried various USB-C ports with a different charger, but no luck. If it was RAM, the power LED would surely turn on, right? But it doesn’t. The whole device is just dead. No sound, no light. 🤔… (1/2)
