    Two small things to help make the world a little better, for folks who already try: RSPB urging people to take away their bird feeders because of the risk of spreading avian flu (and other diseases) - something a lot of people do to try to help bird populations. It&amp;#39;s nuanced, so look into their advice. Marine Conservation Society asking people to stop eating mackerel and cod as the populations are crashing - mackerel having long been one of the more sustainable choices for flesh eaters...

    &amp;#39;whale calves are born tail-first, rather than head-first like other mammals. However, while newborn sperm whales become talented swimmers within a few hours, they still sink right after birth.
