I had a great day yesterday. Well, right up to the point where I broke my ankle on a run. Luckily my mate I was running with is a search and rescue volunteer and looked after me until the rural fire brigade and ambulance could get up the hill to me.

The first book I ever bought was in 1984. I took my birthday money to the bookshop and bought The Living Planet by David Attenborough. That book along with his documentaries instilled in me an appreciation of the beauty and wonders of the natural world. Ultimately it inspired me to become a biologist and conservationist. Happy 100th birthday #DavidAttenborough
