The first book I ever bought was in 1984. I took my birthday money to the bookshop and bought The Living Planet by David Attenborough. That book along with his documentaries instilled in me an appreciation of the beauty and wonders of the natural world. Ultimately it inspired me to become a biologist and conservationist.
