A major driver of ableism is an unwillingness to think about your body becoming different. Disabled people don’t owe you a content warning to preserve the fantasy that we are all permanently bio-typical and neurotypical. Do you realize how many people with facial differences, limb differences, mobility aids, and visible injuries are asked to leave public spaces? Why bring that to mastodon?

White moderates are really on here, claiming that people who STILL BENEFIT from the time when the British Empire and several European nations had a monopoly on power over most of the globe for centuries, are not responsible for the state of the world. In Britain, having ancestors who enslaved people means you’re rich today, and taxpayers were footing the bill until 2015. Haitians had to pay France back FOR THE BODIES AND LABOR OF THEIR ANCESTORS. Read a book.

Whiteness has nothing to do with power, says the white person on a social network that has grown enormously in the past few weeks because a white South African man who inherited stolen mineral wealth has failed up to the tune of billions.
