  Years ago I made this talk - it was fun :) And I went to Davos to deliver it, which led to a 4 day solo hike around Graubunden 🏔️ ❤️ (as well as learning some of my colleagues and co-authors had decide to fuck my career in the meantime 🙄 ) The room was full!   2012 was the last time I went south to the ice. One expedition weirdness: times when a person with [skills I have] was needed and people were running all over the ship searching for *anyone*. But no not you we will find someone! Much later I read a report where experience /skills/certs were listed. In my row? nothing. At the time I had HUET, current wilderness 1st aid, qctive rock climber/rope skills, also 3 previous field expeditions... ...all erased in the record.

  given the rarity and gravity of a prime ministers address I was expecting: 1. right folks we are ripping up AUKUS 2. removing all Australian assets and personnel from the Big Dumb War and future BDWs. 3. also no more US bases in Australia 4. about fuel. Yeah we know 30 years too late but we are not subisidising fossil fuels anymore and also making diesel/petrol from garbage until we don't have to. 5. everyone work from home 6. free public transport for all time oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️

  ps of course you can #fedihire me for drone projects. Especially if they come with an upfront payment tranche so I can: - invest in a control tablet - buy a couple more batteries - invest in an ardusimple RTK rig which would vastly improve accuracy and also open up microhydrology / low cost stream flow measurements - upgrade to EVLOS/BVLOS licensing and a ReOC I use packable RGB/thermal drones so I can go... literally anywhere. The end of the 4WD track isn't a limit.
