• Why does it seem like the majority of people think problems are caused by drugs rather than problems causing people to turn to drugs?

  I was never heavy into drugs but I smoked weed a fair bit in my 20s, knew a lot of other daily users of weed as well as some harder drugs. I don’t think I ever came across a person that randomly decided to do drugs for no reason one day and got hooked. They were all people who had pretty messed up problems in their life that were too complex for them to fix on their own. So it confuses me when people instantly assume that someone is in a bad situation due to drugs rather than them using drugs...

• What's a part of your current life that your 10 year old self might not even believe is true if you travelled back in time and told them?

• Does anyone else feel irritated when deeply religious people connect everything with god?

  For example, you put yourself through university by studying hard and working full time. Then someone says, you should thank god for giving you the strength. Like wtf do you mean, I busted my ass day in and day out but I’m supposed to thank god for it?

  I thought old man and the sea was boring and pointless when I had to read it in grade 7 but 20+ years later, it hits me hard.

  I’ve never seen anyone else do this either irl or in a video but I’m sure lots of people do it. When I make a grilled cheese I mayo both slices then put both slices in the pan at the same time rather than stacked in sandwich form so it takes half the time to cook and I don’t need to flip it.

• Do you close doors when you live by yourself?

  I’ve got this horrible neighbour upstairs who might possibly be the loudest person in the western hemisphere. Walking around in heels for hours at a time, phone rings so loud that it’s more effective at waking me up than my alarm, constantly screeching furniture around all day everyday, blasting the same annoying movie at random times, and slamming doors every 15 minutes.   Ya it absolutely sucks not being able to rest properly at home, I’m pretty sure there is zero upside to it. Sorry to hear you’ve had your fair share of annoying neighbours, some people just suck so much.

  Oh I promise I tried. The first time I talked to her was because it sounded like she was rearranging furniture everyday but it would screech across the floor like nails on a chalkboard.   I understand some people are ignorant but I’ve talked to this woman about the noise a couple times and I’ve had the superintendent talk to her. I would not be surprised if her other neighbours have also complained. The reason I know she’s just annoying is by her reaction of being told she’s loud. A reasonable person would say sorry and try to change but this woman considers it a nuisance if I tell her she’s being excessively loud.

  Good for you for making such a big step (no pun intended) towards healthier living. I do find that a lot of people who go on a long fast or fast regularly have this change in their relationship with food. It’s like you push yourself to do someone out of your norm and then you realize it’s not that hard to resist cravings after a while. Exercise is definitely important, hope you keep it up!

  I don’t meant for weight loss, I mean health benefits as in autophagy, clearing out toxins, giving your organs a break type stuff

• Is asking for letters with your name and address as verification outdated?

  I had to update my address on my driver’s license and they needed a couple pieces of mail with my new address and name on it to verify but I hadn’t gotten any mail at the new place yet. Then I started thinking about it more and realized I haven’t actually received a letter addressed specifically to me in over a year, possibly in over 3 years. I have everything set to send by email because it isn’t 1950 anymore. Am I just a loser with no corporate pen pals or is physical mail an antiquated form...
