Right, the Amazon breaking all ways to remove drm + bricking old kindles is the final straw. Time to get a different reader and focus on Smashwords (and kobo if I need to, their drm is easy to break) Fortunately not got many ongoing series at present and of those they are available off Amazon.

I basically have #bazzite on all my computers at this point, save one (a GPD pocket 1, which has #rebornos ). This is because the only major issue of note I find with bazzite (and also #AuroraLinux ) is that they can take quite a long time to boot. While on most of my pcs that is a few seconds and doesn't matter, only the slower ones it can be very slow indeed. However when booted the system is fine. Is this slow booting a #universalblue thing? I swear when I tried FedoraKDE it wasn&...

Had one of my scariest Linux moments since my full switch nearly a year ago - got a new printer (Epson eco tank) thankfully it all worked. KDE makes it easy.

Just finished #tinytinawonderlands eh. It was fine, even the meta story, while very much not my cup of tea was infinitely better than the abomination that was the base Borderlands 3 story. Still, didn't have the humour of 2/pre sequel and the overworld and the level design in general was meh. Good enough for the £5 it cost me, but that's about it. Time to find something new to play then.

Ugh. So yeah. As someone who is ardently against upscaling as a normal thing (I can accept it to allow old GPUs to get a little more life, not new ones to cut corners) that DLSS 5 thing.... That stuff needs to join the #Microslop pile. #DLSSlop #dlsslop etc

I really can't stop. Just finished #horizonzerodawn again and straight onto #HorizonForbiddenWest which is probably my favourite game of the last few years. Only completed it a 6 months back, but it is such a great game.

Just finished watching #projecthailmary. Wow. I loved that. The book was great, but the film in this instance really nailed it. Right up my street and just great fun all round. Big thumbs up (and probably my favourite Alien ever presented on film) :badabing: :blobaww:

First annoying Linux problem for a while. makemkv (diskripping) is hanging on Linux a lot, so much so it can take an hour of fiddling to get a disk to rip. Lots of reports about it online but the only real answer is to revert to an earlier version. Guess what, Flatpak doesn't let you do that without a massive horror dive and being on bazzite I can't really do it any other way. *Sigh* the old windows laptop has come out to help :(

Just finished #pokemonscarletviolet (base game) interesting. For a while it didn't feel 'right' as in it wasn't really Pokémon, but over time I adapted. I enjoyed it in the end, but it does have issues. Even with the switch 2 update still graphical problems around and heck does it need some form of level scaling to make half the game not be a waste of time, and it really should have taken lessons from Arcaus, but despite that I enjoyed it. So much so that I did bu...

Having one of those days where I really miss my late dad (just over two years gone) silly reason - I was suggested the mens snowboard cross from the Olympics this morning and me and my dad watched that every winter Olympics since 2002 (he was a big speedway fan and it was similar) just hit me right in the feels :-(

Is there any plan for #ckbnext (Corsair mouse application) to be made a Flatpak? Would mean I had no layered packages on #bazzite (and would not have to use the command line at all either)
-
Post #656836
@baofinity yep, I use a Corsair scimitar mouse with the twelve buttons on the side. It works fine with the rpm version but there is warnings that it could get garbled on bazzite with updates and since it isnt really a driver as much as an application a Flatpak would be sensible.

@baofinity It doesn't seem to work with the 12 buttons. I remember trying it when I first moved to bazzite, hence going to the ckb-next. It might work somehow but everything I tried was not registering the buttons.

Week of extremely tired (7:30 starts which means get up at 5:30) comes to an end. Tomorrow I get sleep and get to play with my new mini pc which I am planning to use for testing Linux stuff :owi:

Just finished the #pokemonscarletviolet dlcs. Eh, they were ok. Too much bratty character stuff and I sort of wish it followed the characters in the main game tbh and the ending certainly wasn't as good as the main game. That said it was fun enough and had some banger music along the way. That said they really need to get a better balance of the story and open world in winds/waves. A valiant experiment in a series that certainly rarely experiments, but this all really felt a bit in flux...

Question is what to play next. Got some fire emblem games but want a break from the switch. I want to play #dungeonsofhinterberg but part of me really wants to play the #horizon games again.
-
Post #656830
Right, I was going to do this tomorrow, but I just bought a mini pc for testing and experimenting more with #linux. I also have a portable monitor which I rarely use. Hence this resulting abomination with lots of velcro and cable ties, which since I lack a 3D printer I am extremely chuffed with. Yes, very much a bodge, but also makes me smile and is nice and easy to move about. It has #auroralinix on it at present but hope to spend some time exploring more distros soon :blobcat:

Just finished #dungeonsofhinterberg. Quite lightweight on story but I enjoyed it. The dungeons were short enough that it didn't become a drag after work and they didn't go frustratingly complex. Even the art style, a little jarring at first, became pleasant as time went on. If nothing else made me want to visit Austria :blobaww:
