The whole company is at a halt while the mechanics try their best to fix the almost forty years old things. I have only an hour of work left, and then I'll join the others having their spines massively shortened by standing around...

Oh he doesn't have to learn to play an instrument (sort of) because the Colonel already can, the bugle. It was a voluntary part of his West Point "education", and he enjoyed it very much. Indeed, he was using his "skills" during his deployment in WWII. That wasn't very appreciated BTW…

See, everybody can tell you what's wrong with the world they live in. But do they provide a way out of that alleged misery? Seldom, don't they? That's what I try to convey, you can change things that are wrong as long as your head isn't only good for wearing a hat.

Her Dad is in charge of getting groceries but he often forgets, and thus his secretary Ms. Henderson gets them. Or the base's chef is providing food, more or less voluntarily.
