Ah, fringe minor parties, bless ‘em… I feel like the local New Democrats were only supposed to put up half of this poster (“very intelligent and smart” 😂)

Oh dear. Bus moving at a crawl on motorway overtaken by two paramedics, cops and a fire engine 😬 Someone is having a bad evening and I’m glad I went to the loo before getting on the bus.

This article captures my thoughts on public sector AI well. Does it have potential for some uses? Yes. Are they the uses that will get developed? Probably not in the short term while decision-makers are dazzled by Copilot. Are the risks being managed well? Hell no. https://newsroom.co.nz/2026/05/21/before-we-let-ai-run-the-public-service-we-need-to-know-the-full-impact/

Many days I need to resist the temptation to toot a series of petty frustrations. But today was definitely a #3GoodThings day! The barista gave me my morning coffee for free, I finally made it into the new Wellington library and revived my account (my card has a kākā on it!), and I knocked off early to get a massage.

This is a great article and I had first-hand exposure to some of the racism and arrogance about the Ngāi Tahu settlement, which was awful even by 1990s standards. I hope some current senior members of the Greens feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves for their behaviour back in the day. https://e-tangata.co.nz/comment-and-analysis/a-more-critical-history-of-forest-bird/
