I had a wonderful weekend of #miniaturewargaming at Millennium Con here in central Texas. Finally got my thoughts together enough to write it all up, including the Starship Troopers game I&#39;ve been posting WIPs from for the last year. Taking a break from #miniaturepainting, I tackled a project I&#39;d been considering for a while now. I designed custom bases for all my larger #spaceship# #miniatures, the example here being #firestormarmada Aquans. 40x40x3mm wooden squares from Litko, laser printed paper gluesticked to the top, drill a hole in the middle for a Hawk Widget to make the flight peg removable, and permanent marker to blacken the edges. Got another couple hundred to go... #wargaming #minipainting #wargames

@erikcats I&#39;ve played with a couple blind wargamers at this point. Both of them cognitively sharp, just... old age took their eyesight, and no amount of surgery, glasses, lamps, or magnifying glasses could allow them to visually interpret a board anymore. But as long as everyone at the table described their actions aloud, and with someone to do the moving for them, they could hold a mental model of the table and play just fine.
