If you build an encryption system with a back door, it’ll get hacked or abused. If you build a closed-source system, those in charge of it will inevitably make decisions that are good for them but not for you. Especially if the builders of the system have a profit motive.

These are people who love their world, watching ignorant assholes trampling all over it, destroying things that will never exist again. All to feed the pathological gluttony of a society that has been intentionally divorced from nature to make all this exploitation possible. And then, adding insult to injury, they’re severely underpaid.
