If a system isn’t explicitly designed to prevent abuse, that abuse will inevitably happen.
If you build an encryption system with a back door, it’ll get hacked or abused.
If you build a closed-source system, those in charge of it will inevitably make decisions that are good for them but not for you. Especially if the builders of the system have a profit motive.
