Absolutely destroyed that Kamelot used AI generated garbage in their new lyric video. I was going to get concert tickets for their show here in October, but now I'm probably not going to even buy their new album. I don't pay for AI slop and now I can't be sure they're not using it in their music. Completely shattered. :drgn_sigh: #Kamelot #GenerativeAI #AISlop

Getting back into Python and, like, there's so much weirdness about it that I forgot. Since when are variables not scoped to blocks??? :blobcatgooglyshocked: I'm too C/Java pilled apparently. #Python #Coding #Programming

Hey all, I've had a couple people asking me about dotFurry since I happen to be in the photo. I am not involved whatsoever, I'm just in the photo because I helped Pawprint Prototyping load and unload their booth at OpenSauce and they were super cool and tugged me into the photo with them. :blobfoxheartcute: That said, the animals involved in the project are all awesome and I know they've been super excited about bringing the .furry TLD to the fandom. If having a dedicated furry TLD...

Can we please get rid of :// for denoting protocols? :blobfoxmeltsob: Like it's fine to still support it, how come : doesn't suffice? I hate having three forward slashes when I'm accessing a remote or virtual filesystem. I love you GNOME but admin:/// is a travesty. :soft_dab: #HTTP #GNOME #Linux

I'm still pretty upset that furries largely chose Bluesky over Fedi, and Bluesky's decision to start haphazardly banning babyfurs is the main reason why. :drgn_thinking: Bluesky doesn't understand the intricacies of furries to moderate them, especially our various subcultures. The benefit of Mastodon et al. is that the servers are managed by people from your subculture. A lot of my reservations about Bluesky being a Twitter 2.0 were hand-waved away because ATProto (the...

Hey, does anyone know the rules for Tri-Peaks? I'm trying to learn on the new Solitaire for GNOME and I thought aces could take either a 2 or a King, but it's not letting me do it. Is it a bug or am I just misunderstanding the rules? :soft_thinking: #Solitaire #TriPeaks #GNOME #FOSS

I put a contact sensor on the door to the garage that turns on the light when you open it, and it brings me infinite joy when @kataze opens it and goes, "I like that it's a fridge :3"

I'm really leery of the new blocklist sharing feature being proposed as part of Masotdon's Sovereign Tech Agency funding. While I'm excited Mastodon is receiving an STF grant, blocklist abuse has been a recurring issue and I'm not eager to see it codified in the admin interface. For those that weren't here a few years back, Mastodon has a pretty ugly history with blocklists. They've been repeatedly used to block sex positivity, kink, and LGBTQ+ content. While I agree the...

I just tossed a developer some GitHub sponsor money and they added a bunch of feature requests I asked for and I feel kinda awkward about it :wlfThink: I don't want to come across, like, "hey you did this thing for me so here's your payment," but also I want them to know I appreciate it. :xenia_bottom: Am I overthinking?

Whoever engineered the "Sign In With Google" pop-up that appears incessantly across the Internet deserves to be thrown into the sea. :neodog_what: Every ad blocker should block it by default.

Flatpak really ought to have a fuzzy search built into the flatpak run command as an argument :soft_thinking: It'd go a long way into making the reverse-DNS (and case sensitive for some reason??) names more palatable. As it is I have alias flatfind='flatpak list --app | fzf -q' sitting in my zshrc just to be able to find any of em. "Launching flatpaks from a command line isn't a core consideration." Well it should be, it's fuckin' Linux, mate. :soft_dab: Mayb...

Guys help I'm a big nerd :blobfoxthinkgoogly: Kinger used systemctl stop WACKYTIME_LOCKOUT to try to bypass Caine's lockout, but the rest of the console had allusions to it being 1996. systemctl is a systemd command, but systemd wasn't made until 2010. Kinger is a time traveler confirmed :soft_uwu: For real though, credit to the show because the console was actually pretty decent if you stopped to read it. #TheAmazingDigitalCircus

Anyone got any theories on where the final episode is headed? :wolf_peek: I personally buy into the SOMA theory for the show. I think all the characters are just virtual copies made by the VR headset, so they're never going to be able to get out. It tracks with the fact that there's a "brainscans" folder where the humans are stored in .dat files, it makes sense with Scratch having had a brain tumor since he'd want to scan himself to live forever, and th...
