  Picked an easy day for the first new hill of 2025: Meall Tairneachan - the Corbett just across the road from Schiehallion in the Southern Highlands. The snow is all a memory - we're back to summer conditions. There was a cold wind at the summit, but we were sheltered on the way up and down by the forest and by the bulk of the hill itself. #HikingWithDogs #DogsOfMastodon #Kelpie #Corbetts #Schiehallion

  Outdoorsy people - has anyone dealt with access issues in Perth & Kinross shire? There's no mention of the (statutory requirement) Access Officer on the council's website. Had to raise a generic complaint and hope it gets forwarded to the right person.   Brown Cow Hill from Corgarff Castle in Aberdeenshire with Moray yesterday. Sounds an unimaginative name, until you remember that many of the Gaelic hill names – Black Hill, White Hill, Grey Hill, Red Hill, Big Hill, Small Hill – aren’t exactly inspiring. We did have some wildlife encounters – a mountain hare very visible still in its winter coat, and a few red grouse – which were great to see. #Cairngorms #Aberdeenshire #HikingWithDogs #DogsOf Mastodon #Kelpie #Corgarff #BrownCowHill #Corbetts
