I&#39;m glad to see the band #RareEarth getting a lot of mention in the news these days. I remember hearing this Detroit band described as &quot;the only White band on Motown.&quot; They had a few hits in the 70s doing some stock Motown tunes. I met some members of the band in a Motel 6 parking lot in 1990. I had just completed summer #Dead tour, and they were between shows on the county fair circuit. Respectable guys, decent band, I&#39;m glad they&#39;re getting attention...

CBS news was my soundtrack thru the 80&#39;s and beyond. Before the Internet and time servers, the chime at the beginning of the hourly newscast was the most accurate way to set your watch. And their news stations (KNX in LA, KCBS in SF, many more high-powered stations) kept us informed.
