  For @gruber (who has probably gotten this a bunch by now) and anyone else who checks manually: Tap and hold on the App Store icon, drag down to Updates, release. Now, you still have to pull to refresh, but prior to 26.4 you had to tap/hold/release, pull to refresh, scroll past account info.   I bought a MacBook Air M5 (got a great trade-in price, imo). So now I have Tahoe. It is very ugly and very bad, as I expected. But, what bothers me in daily use is different from what bothers me in theory / principle. One element I expected to hate (and I do, but not for the reason I thought would) is the menu icons. Much has been written and said about them. I like them. My brain *does* see the symbol first and, I think, much faster. 1/

Also, do not use the word “writer” with someone who allows an LLM to affect their voice. Really if they’re using it at all besides perhaps punctuation. You’re not writing if you’re not writing. If developers want to march into the sea hand in hand with their Claude code, fine, but leave writers out of it.

  Don’t know if I’ve ever had as truly mixed feelings about a game as I do about Dragon Age: Veilguard. Some honestly terrible writing and VO direction choices. Some really good ones, too. Visually beautiful. Like, gobsmackingly beautiful at times, if a little odd in art direction for some costumes. Two of my favorite set pieces in any game. Great opening, slow middle almost enough to kill it for me, absolute BANGER of an ending. (especially if you’ve played all the games) #videogames
