  Got a mirror put on so feeling a bit safer when I take to the streets. Per usual, took five times longer than I was estimating. Misting most of the time and rain had fallen so lots of puddles. I still need a rack or frame bag. Or at least a bottle holder. Backpack gets too hot. My 14 mile ride included a 0.4 mile, straight, flat, low traffic, wide shoulder stretch. Felt very fast. Definitely faster than my e-bike would go. Though long hills are a different story. #BikeTooter #rochmn #biking

  Last couple winters I’ve done a bit of monitoring around the house, trying to find & address heat/air leaks. The window of one bedroom wouldn’t lock on one side. This caused noticeable leakage on cold days but I couldn’t figure it out. It’s a second floor window so with my wife home. I set up the ladder and watched her open and close the window. I could now see that lock/latch didn’t line up. So a bike ride to the hardware store for some spacers and longer screws. #diy #winterization #mi...

  Taking Shape I’ve got a rack to help carry things and a small bag for tools and emergency supplies. But the 42mm wheels are really making a comfort difference. Definitely increased the fun factor. Note on the back is a kickstand for my #radwagon4 . The bolt snapped and I had to bring it in to get the small chunk drilled out. Eric at #rochmn cycling had it done in 10 minutes. Threw in a new bolt for me also. #BikeTooter

  I think the Sirrus is technically a hybrid bike and it’s definitely the closest I’ve ever had to a road bike. But today on my ride I went by a new mountain bike course, so I gave it a try. A jogger could have passed me given my pace, and there were a couple places where I had to walk, but it was fun. Raining now with colder weather moving in, so might be some time before I go there again. I’ll try to borrow an actual MT bike next time. #BikeTooter #minnesota #rochmn #mtb #mountainbiking

  Volunteering at school. Pencil sharpener wasn’t spinning. Brought home. Took apart and saw that white gear was slipping back out of contact. Put collar on shaft to maintain gear position. I suppose super glue could’ve worked. Hopefully uneven weight doesn’t wear out motor. #electricmotor #diy #mechanical #handyman #gears

  Off the path again. In #rochmn there’s a path through a park and the water crossing was washed out this summer. But the water is shallow, so I usually just walk my bike across. But today I get to the spot and the city had a couple skid steers working on fixing it. I decided to follow the xc ski paths and it was quite enjoyable. #BikeTooter #minnesota

  I fought the hill, and the hill won. I was on studded tires and doing my first try on a nearby neighborhood hill. I made it about half way before I got off and walked. When I got home I checked and found the hill was about a 9% grade over 0.4 miles. #BikeTooter #winterbiking #minnesota
