  Finnaly got some updated firmware installed on my new to me Powerconnect6224. It was a pain. I found a usb serial device that could not communicate back to the switch which was 3 days of frustration. Also sending 9.6MB over a 9600 baud connection using Xmodem was painful. All this work and the darn thing is going to be switched to unmanaged mode anyways xD Now to get some Fiber gear. Got an 88ft run to do.

  @geerlingguy Do your Xserves have a fiberchannel card/port on them? I just dug around the dark depths of my stash of computer stuff and found my Apple SFP 4G Fiberchannel cable. Curious if that is something you'd be interested in tinkering with.. for content and science!

  Dont know how but doing an update to a Leap 15.6 machine last night broke the graphics drivers. "Well you should not buy an Nvidia card." i hear from someone in the back. Nope.. this time it was intel and the video accelerated hardware. Now to decide if i can just change the repos to Leap 16 and dup or if i will have to migrate to tumbleweed/slowroll.
