analyzing why #osmocom ARM package building is taking too long: Turns out the build worker is spending 7.5 times more time in post-installation of latex (for setting up the package build) than it is taking to actually build osmo-sgsn including its user manual: https://osmocom.org/issues/7009

When all you want to do is to get a gym membership, but they are so f*cked up in terms of GDPR compliance that you have to write several e-mails and file two GDPR complaints in two different German states instead :/

Whenever some product is advertised with "unmatched performance", the RF / signal integrity part of my brain goes "who would ever want that?". #electronics

Heading to #Vancouver tomorrow, with some availability from March 19th through 24th. Not sure if any of my old contacts/friends from the linux/hacker community happen to be located there thees days. If yes, and interested in meeting over coffee, lunch, dinner or just drinks, let me know.

I'm currently looking for one or more volunteers to maintain the Openmoko USB PID + OUI service at https://github.com/openmoko/openmoko-usb-oui as the existing maintainer is no longer available. This is a service providing free USB Product IDs and Ethernet MAC addresses for the #FOSS and #OSWH community. Volunteers have to review of the PRs fulfill FOSS/OSHW licensing requirements before merging PRs. #usb #opensource

I'm currently looking to expand my social network and would love to get in touch with anyone in the "global south" (especially African countries) involved in #hamradio, wireless community networks, #FOSS or #OSHW development or the #maker and #hacker communities. I'd be very happy if anyone from the above target groups would reach out and introduce themselves #followerpower

I just recovered the project information of the atusb IEEE 802.15.4 USB adapter since qi-hardware is now defunct. The page and all other resources/binaries/... (full backup) now live at https://people.osmocom.org/werner/wpan/web/ and a git repo with compiling tools can be found at https://gitea.osmocom.org/qi-hardware/ben-wpan #oshw #wpan #ieee802_15_4
