I LOVE interoperability. There's something so cool about coding something that's flexible enough to work across multiple platforms. So excited to see what I can turn Calcifer into. Right now it supports Firebase, but the code is designed to be platform agnostic, so platforms like Supabase would be super easy to integrate! #CalciferDev

Ever wanted to inject your own HTML into the markdown rendering of your 11ty posts? Me too! I wrote a post about it: https://jessieheald.com/blog/adding-custom-rendering-to-html-elements-in-11ty/ #IndieWeb #11ty #SSG #JavaScript #Markdown #programming

Does anyone know of any #FOSS or open web adjacent conferences in the #UK this year that are looking for people to give talks? I'd love to do a talk about my #11tyCMS project! #Programming boosts welcome!

    In my capacity as #11ty / #BuildAwesome evangelist, I wrote a post about why I'm obsessed with #SSG s: https://jessieheald.com/blog/the-static-web-renaissance/ #Blog #Programming #WebDev

Does anyone know of good UI libraries for #Zig ? I'm interested in building a project soon, and thinking of using Zig to do it! I know of a few, but any _recommendations_ would be welcome! #Programming I suppose there's nothing stopping me from using a C library for that either...

For the junior developers out there: would 1 to 1 lessons from a senior developer be helpful for you in today’s climate with AI? I’m curious… #programming boosts welcome 💖

It's concerning that many companies use AI for their hiring process. I asked a chatbot about my portfolio, and it hallucinated several skills I didn't have and missed several crucial skills I _do_ have. Imagine the havoc that's reeking on job applications right now? The whole point of these systems is that a human can be taken out of the equation. What's the point if we still end up reviewing it because the AI can't be trusted? #AI #NoAI #Programming #Job...

Making a little site to make sharing to #Mastodon a little easier. My portfolio is Javascriptless, and I wanted to keep it that way. So thought it'd be nice to create a web app that could generate share links for Mastodon and remember your instance(s). All you have to do is link to it with the right search params. More on #Mastoshare soon! #Programming

https://jessieheald.com/blog/the-llm-driven-death-of-stack-overflow/ I wrote a post about the death of #StackOverflow , the impact of #LLM s and #AI on learning to code. I'm starting to worry that the internet is becoming an information desert for juniors. #Programming

I'm tired of what AI is doing to the internet and software. I'm tired of the resource scarcity, and I'm sad about the negative impact of LLMs on the #programming field and the art of development, as well as the effects its having on our #environment . What if #GreenCoding could not only insulate our projects from the negative effects of AI, but also reduce operational costs and improve UX? My blog post talks about all of this and more, check it out! Boosts and feedback...

Static websites are the future. Not every site needs to be dynamically generated. Having a #blog served by a complex CMS like WordPress feels unnecessary after using #11ty . Compute is growing in cost and becoming scarce. Why waste it on sites suited for static generation? Plus, who wants to host a server with a database, a CMS, a bunch of plugins and all the security headaches that comes with it? #SSG #IndieWeb #Blogging

Any advice on #FOSS fundraising welcome! I'm looking to setup some donation pages for my FOSS #11tyCMS project. I've looked at Open Collective and Buy Me a Coffee. Buy Me a Coffee looks like the most sensible right now: 11tyCMS's user base is tiny (for now), and it feels like any donations will likely be one offs. Are there any platforms I should be aware of? I have also thought of Patreon but I think it might be best to wait until I have a better website for 11tyCMS, a...

God I love #TypeScript . Its so beautiful how all your code comes together when using it. Sure it can slow you down to begin with, you have to think so much harder about everything you write. But it pays off: bugs become infrequent and things feel a lot more stable! It's been a while since I've coded in TS, and I'm glad to be getting back into it again. Didn't realise what I was missing.
