I read, I write, I bake - and though I was born in Holland, I now live (with a cat) in a tiny village in the Czech Republic. (Before I moved here, I worked almost eighteen years in the largest hotel for the homeless in Holland. Before that, I worked freelance, as a translator, copywriter and editor, but I also tended bar and worked as a pub cook - and I taught English whenever I lived abroad and needed the extra cash.) https://www.amazon.com/stores/Jan-Thie/author/B0841RPQBS?ref=ap_rdr&store

Yesterday, I was playing while I should have been editing. I'm thinking about making this the cover of the four-novella book I will self-publish in the next few days All the text - apart from the author's name - need to be written yet. The pic is one of the many I have taken over the years of the glowing coals in the wood burner. #selfpublishing #bookstodon

Another one now available at the Great Satan. I wish there were other ways for a digichallenged amateur to get his books published but for me the Kindle Publishing route is the only way that works. Mind you, I write to amuse myself and I see the publishing of these books as the end of a process and not as the start of a marketing/promotion phase. I'd be crap at those. This is a collection of longish short stories; I've never published one of those before, so that's fun....

The cat had brought in another mouse and then dropped it immediately, which resulted in a near hysterical free-for-all: - the cat wanting to recatch the mouse - me wanting to rescue the mouse - the mouse being as acraid of its would be rescuer as its actual tormentor... ... but Lisa Snellings's art and I conquered - and the mouse got to run another day #Cat #Mouse #Art
