If it's anti-American, the NCGOP did it first.

Trump’s takeover of D.C. law enforcement begins - Atlanta Journal-Constitution He learned January 6 that even without the National Guard, the DC police rushed to defend the Constitution and their brothers in blue against the murderous mobs he unleashed on them. For him, the unhoused are a smokescreen, and their transport to camps an excuse. https://epaper.ajc.com/popovers/dynamic_article_popover.aspx?guid=b241c335-12da-4e71-ba0b-c305fbadbb4b&pbid=8e0858ee-1443-484d-9e94-f8b8a1eaaaff&amp...

Feeling safer? My brother is 88 years old and disabled. He was born in Washington DC, & is a retired Roman Catholic Monsignor in the Archdiocese of Washington. He lives in a nursing home for the poor operated by nuns. Returning home from the Washington Hospital Center yesterday his medical transport was stopped at a checkpoint at North Capitol & Michigan Ave. He has no valid ID. His name is Joaquin. He got through, but damn this terror campaign.

I was a carpenter in my 20s. Brett Kavanaugh and his Georgetown Prep-coddled bigotry would have permitted bounty hunters to make me disappear. With apologies to Nina Simone: "Roger Taney Goddamn."

I truly admire the courage of judges who stand for the law in the face of terroristic threats. And deplore that we have an administration that rules by terror. "'Violence elsewhere cannot support troop deployments here, and concern about hypothetical future conduct does not demonstrate a present inability to execute the laws using nonmilitary federal law enforcement,' her opinion said." https://www.oregonlive.com/crime/2025/10/national-guard-troops-temporarily-b...

'Why did they arbitrarily demand "25 yards" be witness-free? Because their illegal detentions and perjury were proven by cell phone cameras. Unlike the landscapers they are tackling, I can afford a lawyer. https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/politics/immigration-news/heavy-handed-border-patrol-arrests-two-us-citizens-in-charlotte-for-allegedly-warning-others-of-operation/275-6d84fd32-0083-4f18-a70e-9fe84d0c3d94

Finally Hegseth's Caribbean murders come into focus: he's using the Navy to help El Chapo's cartel buddies. "prosecutors asserted that while campaigning for his first term, Mr. Hernández had received bribes from drug traffickers, including $1 million from Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman..." Trump Announces Pardon for Honduran Ex-President Convicted in Drug Case https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/28/world/americas/trump-pardon-honduras-hernandez.html?smid=nytcore...

This broad winged hawk was perched too close to the bluebird house. Poppa Blue wasn't having it. #Birds

On May 16, 1971, my wife's cousin Craig Farlow was shot down after inserting ARVN Marines near Hue in Vietnam. His helicopter exploded on impact. His remains were never recovered. He had just turned 23. Laura wrote in an online memorial, "Craig was the best of us."

@cstross@wandering.shop Irwin Mainway's "Bag O Glass" toy and "Invisible Pedestrian" costume seem quaint in comparison.
