For reasons (congrats, @stephanie, chalk-up another win), I am seeking a new instance. I live in Vancouver, Canada. I am male and straight (but huge 2SLGBTQ+ ally), love photography, lefty politics, movies & performance arts, trains, and being as silly as possible. I would like the following: ✔︎ non-USA servers ✔︎ preferably big character limits ✔︎ a Canadian-biased instance ✔︎ ridiculously funny community ✔︎ goodness, look at all the custom emojis!! ✔︎ more cats than anyone knew possible ✔︎...

@anthonyfloyd.ca This suggests a greater chance of “Firefly” reboot on Hulu. Lots of programme cash suddenly freed up. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s announcement. Gonna be shiny.

@Anibyl@social.coop I don’t understand how people feel that way either.

@giflian@techhub.social That was also great. I have known about these birds’ predilections for some time. They are crazed and think they are Canada Geese.

It turns out that #today is going to be what yesterday was supposed to be but wasn’t because things were too hard for me to get out of bed because of. So… follow along — or mute — this thread as I get to things 24 hours late!

@grumpy_copi@social.tchncs.de @catsalad@infosec.exchange I can confirm this also. I have changed a few of them. They were not as nasty as one thinks. Still nasty — oh yes! — but not as nasty.

RE: https://flipboard.com/@cbcnews/canada-1akomc2pz/-/a-TkGtX_XUQC60ew3crAQ7Aw%3Aa%3A107108217-%2F0 It’s so good to see that the Premier of Ontario is using the up-to-date pejoratives regarding Education standards from… [:: checks notes ::] …half a century ago. If he had used a term from that historical perspective when the phrase “basket weaving courses” was au current it would have been one from the 1920s, and people would have rightly ridiculed him. Let us hope they do so today.

@giflian@techhub.social You realize that @Erased_Citizen@cupoftea.social is going to end up at work, right? Nothing good er’e comes of this.

@TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @codinghorror@infosec.exchange How do people just go back to browsing the shelves? There’s a guy with a phone bigger than a child, and he’s Literally shouting into it! How could anyone just — oh, wait: England. Right. Never mind.

@amiserabilist@beige.party @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @TwoClownsEating@beige.party @mothninja@beige.party Fun Fact: I live a few hours drive north of there, just follow Interstate 5! [:: silence ::] I swear I had nothing to do with anything related to that fatal event. [:: silence ::] SERIOUSLY! NOTHING!!

The plan for tomorrow is to be up at 10:00, ease into the day, shave (haven’t in four weeks or more), go to work from noon to eight (haven’t done that in over two weeks), then repeat the ‘working’ part the next day from about nine to five, and then I’m off for five days. Laundry can wait for Tuesday. Let’s see how that goes.
