  Computer people: I use BOINC and Folding@Home to run science research on my computer whenever it is not in use by me. However I started to wonder if that is going to wear out my processor or motherboard faster in the long term as at least one person I've found seems to think. Opinions?

  Pretty sure I've said this, but my biggest hurdle with practicing saxophone, is that I have to assemble/disassemble and clean it EVERY TIME. I can't just grab it like a guitar.

  I don’t like that the music industry is all about “shiny and new.” I want to promote the music I’ve been making and releasing for the last 26 years that is still mostly unknown but that doesn’t seem to be very viable. You have to be promoting a new album or single. I don’t want to chase that treadmill, though obviously I’ll always be making new music too. I don’t want my old old songs to just be forgotten jetsam.

  It just dawned on me that with SNL UK being 8 episode seasons, and SNL US being 20 episode seasons, SNL UK could conceivable catch up and surpass SNL US on season numbers.

  Look, I may not be the most handsome, sexy, fit, intelligent man on the planet, BUT I do absolutely and every time wash my dishes as soon as I am done using them, and replace the toilet paper when it runs out. So those alone have to get me pretty high up on the scale.

  While our gig last night was really great, I was struggling pretty hard and not feeling great by the time we finished. I thought because of the heat. Then my bandmate Chris asked me "Have you eaten?" and it dawned on me that I had only had a small breakfast, and nothing else since in the chaos of the day. She promptly ordered me some loaded fries to get some salt in my system and, SURPRISE, I felt much better. Moral of the story: I'm an idiot.

  While I must admit that I find this season of “For All Mankind” real bad, Ruby Cruz has always impressed me in everything I’ve seen her in. A real naturalness and charm. Even in this.

  I love that Angine De Poitrine are causing such waves. One of the most original things I've seen and heard in a long time, and it does get you grooving. Also as a performer I can't help but think what a PAIN it must be to perform in those costumes and with painted arms and hands like that.

  I feel like cheap shirts most often show the lack of quality in the buttonholes. Often too tight, hard to button/unbutton, and with crappy stitching.

  I've been thinking a lot about my late aunt Trish last night and today. Probably because I'm pet sitting just miles from 2 of the places they lived where I would often come visit during school breaks and such. I drove by last night.   I've said this before but as a musician I think about it a lot. The whole trope of women going home with band guys after a gig. 1. Has never happened to me but that really just says more about me than anything. 2. I am GROSS after a gig. I often lament having to be in the car with myself. Nobody would want to get near that funk.

  Look FB, I’d love to say “I know Mike Judge” but despite having worked with him twice, I’m pretty sure he’d have no idea who I was. So I don’t think I can say that.
