<p>I'm a researcher in trauma-informed teaching and learning. I'm also interested in the concept of forced resilience as it relates to disability. New to identifying as disabled and working on internalized ableism. I don't take kindly to unsolicited advice-giving.</p><p><a href="https://disabled.social/tags/MentalHealth" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MentalHealth</span></a> <a href="https://disabled.social/tags/Cats" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Cats</span></a> <a href="https://disabled.social/tags/Hiking" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hiking</span></a> <a href="https://disabled.social/tags/EdTech" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EdTech</span></a> <a href="https://disabled.social/tags/TinyLiving" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<spa

Potentially controversial opinion, but I think the advice regarding interpersonal conflict to just figure out to come to peace with other people’s bad behavior because you can’t control them has its root in toxic relational patterns. It’s just another way to shut people up. It’s an absolute recipe for not getting your needs met. Because if you don’t ask for what you need, you will never get your needs met. How convenient.1/2
