  Harvested the potatoes today, as the plants had fully died back. Normally, the plants dying back is a sign that it has dedicated all its nutrients into tuber production. In this case, I think it was just due to the recent heat waves and not getting enough water 🥲 I got six potatoes, but one was damaged by the shovel. I now have five potatoes and the damaged one left in the dirt to see if it sprouts. An absolutely dismal harvest yield, but you live and learn.

  A successful excursion to Arcadia in Portland for pinball :3 I got 25 million points on Medieval Madness. Lower than my top score on pinball FX but way way higher than all past IRL pinball sessions!

  Homestarrunner has permanently ruined my vocabulary by making me say things like "would you happen to know....the times?" Bluey has permanently ruined my vocabulary because now my default response to good things is to say "hooray!" By the time I'm 80 I anticipate my vocab will be entirely memes.

  I am now on possession of Absolute OpenBSD by @mwl@io.mwl.io . I think this weekend I'm going to go through the setup steps in a VM and get myself acquainted with it. I have tried openBSD and freeBSD previously, but from the perspective of "if I install this as an end user with no prior knowledge, how hard is it to get a desktop environment?"   The allegations against Platner are bad, and I do not want to discourage people discussing it, but if you post about it please please use the CW and the sensitive media functions of your fedi client of choice. I do not want to go into details, but I have chronic PTSD. Therapy, calming techniques and the occasional "as needed" anxiety meds and meds that turn off dreaming help a lot, and I am overall okay, but social media and news websites are a bit of a minefield for me at the momen...
