And another bit with the same character as my last piece, since I wanted to do a bit more after working hard on her skin. #Cyberpunk #SciFi #SciFiArt #PinUp #3DArt #MastoArt

In other news, I'm working from home today (I work Saturdays, it means I get Mondays off, which is handy). I'm doing some things in Excel, and Copilot's voice activation has really impressed me. The annoying popup vanished when I shouted "fuck off, Copilot."

Reasons I hate open plan offices #21036: Someone is having a very serious conversation with their manager less than 10 feet from me, and I just blasted Girls on Film by Duran Duran across the office during a particularly serious moment while trying to put on some music so that I wasn't eavesdropping. (It turned out my headphones had switched off because I hadn't used them for a while.) If anyone needs me, I'll be getting extensive cosmetic surgery and making a new life far away.

I'm back at work. I would like to propose a motion that whoever invented focus stealing popups within software should have a court mandated officer follow them for the rest of their lives shoving irrelevant fliers and forms into their face every time they start a sentence.

So, looking at job ads in the UK. Mentally translating some of the jargon: "Busy, fast paced environment" - Impossible workloads "Friendly team" - welcome back to secondary school, fit in or die "Creative environment" - we absolutely do not plan a single thing we do "Proactive self starter" - We don't understand this job but we're hoping you do "Motivated and committed" - you live here...

So, a quick Linux based question: I might be installing Linux on an old intel Mac this week. It's my first go at anything Linux, but I know this generation of Mac reasonably well. I'm probably going to be using it to run some old games, do web things and maybe one day run blender. The machine has an AMD graphics card. Pop and Ubuntu keep coming up as the recommended distros. Does anyone have a strong recommendation in either direction?

"Prima? I won't say a bad word about her." "Oh, I don't know her very well, I'm just scared to slag her off. They say her ballet troupe got kidnapped by White Power types . A day later, she turned up at the competition as if nothing had happened. No troupe, no gang, and nobody knows what happened." "Well, we can guess a bit, since the gang were all dead. Four of them had been partially eaten." -- Gwyn Lewis, Mercena...

Off to bed before I start arguing with people on the internet. Seriously, though: Not seeing people posting about the particular thing you care about doesn't mean people aren't aware or don't care. Very few people are constantly cycling through a checklist of statements about all the ills of the world. It's not sustainable. Also: Stop sharing unsourced images with writing on just because they make you feel an emotion. Bullshit is bullshit, even if it agree...

Back in on the first train. It's opening day Got a message at 0700 asking where my keys were. They're in my pocket, dear reader. I took them home by accident last night. Given what my keys unlock, it's likely not critical.

EDIT:it would help if I added the image. Also, posted with the consent of my colleague Dave and his daughter Alessia, @welshpixie 's illuminated lettering being used!

And a very tired #Museum tales: * We built it, people came. They seemed to have a blast. * A French teen almost left wearing one of our crowns because he forgot he was wearing it * The craft table is popular * We all survived the great mannequin tsunami (and found out the new dummy cupboard sometimes only half locks and will pop open later) * People keep seeing the TARDIS in the display and then running away delighted, as if they have to keep it secret from me.

And a weird pinup for the night. It started with the pose and my noticing that she was holding the blade, so I decided to go with it. #Cyberpunk #SciFiArt #SciFi #PinUp #3DArt #MastoArt

Okay, looks like it's going to be one of those days where my executive function means having to choose between showering and cooking (it'll be cooking, not doing so would bugger Kero up too).

"You know that hippy we shot?" "'The Druidess of Penllegar woods?' Heh. What about her?" "I, ah... she's not dead." "Fuck off. And in a #museum tales that comes to you from my day off: The front of a display case has come off. Because it turns out it was only attached on with Velcro. So the fuckers have two modes: sealed up like the corpse of Lenin... and fucking velcro'ed together.

In other news my new pickset has arrived (half 0.24mm and half 0.15mm for Euro Cylinders and just narrow locks.) * I'm terrified of breaking them, since my sets until now have been thick Chinese picksets. * I suddenly understand what the Youtubers mean when they describe feeling resistance on pins. That also scares me. * I'm raking better, but I feel as if I'm going to have to learn how to SPP all over again. I'd just started to get it but it now feels totally...

(I will be honest that it's also indicative of the various fairly progressive enclaves I live my life in that I was really surprised anyone was remotely bothered by me handling dresses or putting them on a mannequin.)

In other news, I'm going to spend a couple of spoons to break my routine and go to the shop on the way home (I'm on the wrong train to go to the shop, because I normally go after taking the slow train home because that results in a bus journey that stops me off outside the shop, I'm instead of the faster train that is a 5 min walk from the shop. Yes, I am Autistic, who do you ask...?) I really want English muffins for tea.

Also, the final phase of the museum is my exact fucking kryptonite: dozens of little bitty ambiguous jobs that have to be done in juddering, faltering leaps, to a tight deadline, but involve working with other people who have no sense of urgency.

I know it's unusual for me to do some art that isn't cyberpunk, but after our fruitful research on the dress and poses of infosec experts (and how closely the Daz Cybersecurity Poses set matches the real world of Infosec workflow) I decided to do this completely factual artwork of how a Cybersecurity professional looks during their average workday. (Okay, it's a joke based on a Toot I sent yesterday that probably 10 people will get) #Cyberpunk #SciFi #ScifiArt #PinUp #I...

Today's #Museum Tales: *My workplace is being very normal * The dummy cupboard isn't at all disconcerting * They've made me a secret door, which is amazing * We've got very blokey workmen in, so they're shocked that I could do anything so gender iconoclastic as handling a dress (like women wear!), and deeply disconcerted that I talk to the mannequins while I dress them.
