  This morning was the second cultural burn at the Hillview bushland, and it was beautiful I have trouble fully putting my feelings into words. Country needs care from people, and I am so grateful that Ronnie, Simon, and other Noongar people from the Mindeera group and beyond are willing to share their knowledge with us.

  I had a great time joining the Lathlain Primary School Bike Bus this morning! I spend time all over the Town, but I'm making an extra effort to get over to Banksia Ward during the budget process to ensure I have a good understanding of that area as well as my own Ward.

  Over in Vic Park we've made significant headway towards electrifying our fleet. Especially for areas like the rangers, which drive a lot and don't need specialised vehicles, it's a win in so many ways. Much cheaper running costs, and a little less local pollution.   This ANZAC Day, I'm reflecting on the horrors of war. Many commemorations of war slip into talking about glory, bravery, and just causes. I think that the best we can do for those who have suffered through war, as both combatants and civilians, is to face our history unflinchingly. To be able to see the complexity of war, including the fact that it has frequently served those in power rather than deeper values of freedom and justice. Lest we forget.
