  Daughter and SIL hosted my mums 98th birthday gathering today. All but two families attended. It was a beautiful setting on a lifestyle block in Waimauku. It’s a dead flat property with about an acre of pristine lawns around the house. Mum had lots of photos taken with her many family members. I got confused when introducing some of the little ones to the adults. I couldn’t remember if they were great Uncles or cousins at one stage. I think I got 1000 hugs from the children present.

  Would you believe my mum is 98. She looked like a film star when we were growing up. It was hard to keep up the standards she expected from her daughters.

  97 yr old mum is taking industrial action at the care home. The Management is making them do their own breakfasts at the buffet including making toast with toaster provided. They are all in there because of balance issues mainly and falls. They are in danger of falling because of this new policy. Mum read the riot act and refused to stand in the queue. They served her. She’s going to the office on Monday to read the riot act.

  My severely disabled sister who has immuno suppressant infusions monthly has to go for a scan a few days ago. Now she has come down with a virus and she’s really ill. We suspect she caught it at the hospital. There is no protection for our vulnerable any more. Hospitals are unsafe.
