the plastic 'glass' falling into the bathroom sink makes an *EXTREMELY* loud and convincing theatrical sound effect of smashing glass explained everything. 3:O#> 🤬 Oh well, I'm up now. In other news: BSky appears to be in spiked YoYo mode, my ISP has tightened the security screws such that my poor old white MacBook running Eudora for email access and sorting will no longer connect because TLS is too backlevel, so for now I&#39;ll be on WebMail of some sort until I can pick and learn a modern email client that runs on Mac systems. This is _inconvenient_ and definitely not portable. 3:O(&gt;

@cstross@wandering.shop Excellent! (You got sedation? All of my eye surgery (two cataracts, subsequent capsulotomy, and a retina reattachment years later) was done with just local (if any) anaesthetic.) 3:O)> The only difficulty was applying the eyedrops afterwards, being on my own, and ended up lying on the floor looking up and dripping them in before blinking a few times to distribute the drops over the eyeball. That worked OK.
