Just heard about the #Broadway musical Suffs, about women’s suffrage movement, based on actual people and events. PBS is showing it, “in the manner of Hamilton,” and the first half has been so compelling and well-acted that I am off to bed 90 mins later than usual! #WomensHistory #VotingRights #ERA #PBS

That game was insane and had it all— outstanding goalie plays; score by a rookie; tension over a possibly serious injury to a key player; intense exchange of scores, including with only seconds left; the GOAT having a hand in a critical play as time was ticking; and of course overtime—though only one OT period, which is now almost expected and almost boring 😅 #PWHL

It’s nearly 7:00pm Central time 5/17. Will it rain tonight after all?

#BirdCallOut this morning, just from what the Merlin app could identify: Tennessee warbler -- sounded just like what I heard yesterday and got a glimpse of Northern mockingbird White throated sparrow, which sometimes move through here Yellow rumped warbler, also likely a migrant Great crested flycatcher - new to me! Also seen/heard: Northern cardinal Goldfinches Egrets Cormorants Chimney swifts American robins By the time I set up my scope, the songbirds had gone quiet or had left!

:local_only: Can you recommend an HVAC service for furnace and a/c tune-ups, etc? Today I fired our HVAC company who we have worked with since 2019. The small company merged with Hero Home Services--which isn't the main issue. But Hero uses #AI for nearly all of its customer service and it *sounded* like an actual person... except it just repeated what I said, like "I'll pass along your concern about XYZ." Gave me the creeps Who do you use?

Disappointed and a bit disgusted to see another US team added to the growing #PWHL roster, instead of preserving Canada-US parity among the teams. Is hockey in hot climates really a thing?? Nevada, followed by San José…?!? I understand the logistics about wanting professional arenas for playing and practicing but still… #WomensHockey

The #PWHL finals between Montreal and Ottawa were great this year (again)! And just about 10 minutes after watching the celebration, I realized that these great teams are likely going to look completely different next year because of the expansion 😭 The league is going from 8 teams to 12. How is that going to work exactly…? Who will retire? What else is in the works? #PWHLplayoffs #PWHLexpansion

Yesterday I posted a photo of a watercolor I did—but it wasn’t the photo I intended to post! There were a few details I added later; not sure why I posted the not-quite-finished one. This is the completed painting, which adds swirls/gentle ripples in the water, a shadow below the rocks, and a few touches around the reflection of the heron itself Thanks for the many likes and boosts of the previous version! #watercolor #GBH #heron #GreatBlueHeron

My most recent watercolor based on a photo I took at a nearby pond. At the pond are turtles, herons, egrets, cormorants, mallards, wood ducks, songbirds, redwing blackbirds, and even an occasional loon. #watercolor #birds

So great to hear the announcer use they/them pronouns for Seattle’s CJ Jackson, who I believe identifies as non-binary — and uses she/they for pronouns, according to Wikipedia #PWHL

I was hoping to post for Silent Sunday but am just having a heckuva time getting back into the fediverse groove… Will take some time to scroll through some of your #SilentSunday photos and call it good enough!
