  A friend mentioned beach wheelchairs, and I had no idea that was a thing, bc I'm not a beach person. But of course they need to be mapped. I found 17 occurrences for "amenity=mobility_equipment_hire" on taginfo, but no wiki page.   800 pedestrian crossings in #Kilkenny now more or less mapped on #OpenStreetMap as regards to whether there is tactile pavement. Still not the whole town (city!) covered, but it's very tedious, and 800 is as good a number as any to take a break from it. https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/2t4G

  Of the 10 potential unrecorded archaeological sites I reported to the National Monuments Service yesterday, 6 have been confirmed as news sites, 1 was already recorded by them, but in the wrong location, and two are natural; still waiting to hear back on the last. Of the 6 new monuments, 4 are booleying (transhumance) sites, & now I'm considering a new tagging scheme for them. I'm thinking historic=archaeological_site + archaeological_site=settlement + settlement=transhum...

  Kilkenny County Council have published yet another document full of maps derived from OpenStreetMap without any attribution. Rather than me having to manually compare their maps with OSM and Táilte Éireann data and wasting time I could spend mapping, I would appreciate a tool doing that for me - "Is it OSM?".   The odds are stacking up: I write the wiki page for lifting stones, and the same day my friend asks me whether I want to go to a book launch about stone lifting the next day.   August 2023, my bike helmet got stolen and I reported it to the Gardaí (for crime statistics reasons). Got a phone call yesterday (!!!), could I come in and give statement.   I'm working on a #uMap of all my #Sketchfab models (http://u.osmfr.org/m/1380431/) which is taking for-e-ver. I wish it was an in-built feature on Sketchfab, if people wanted to add coordinates to their #photogrammetry scans. I guess I'm spoiled from #LinkedOpenData in the #Wikiverse and #OpenStreetMap.

  Spotted this possible moated site very late last night while mapping, just when I was about to shut down for the night. I've reported it to the National Monuments Service today. It's about 60m across. Unfortunately, the townland name Ballygowney is post-Cromwell, so no help historically. But the field name might be Seanchúirt, unless that applies to the other field with a moated site in the same townland. First image is Esri Clarity, second Bing imagery. #archaeology #IrishArchae...
