Spotted this possible moated site very late last night while mapping, just when I was about to shut down for the night. I've reported it to the National Monuments Service today. It's about 60m across. Unfortunately, the townland name Ballygowney is post-Cromwell, so no help historically. But the field name might be Seanchúirt, unless that applies to the other field with a moated site in the same townland. First image is Esri Clarity, second Bing imagery. #archaeology #IrishArchaeology
