I really hope my neighborhood stays wildflower friendly. Sitting out here with the weeds is very calming.

I just found out one of the local rep houses is showing Alien on Monday. I am prepared to be terrified.

The summer produce faucet has turned on at the CSA. We might need to eat two pounds of veg a day this week.

I’m morbidly curious about the current line goes up situation with the stock market, so I was reading an article on the recent google earning’s report. People are excited because they have signed contracts for possibly putting data centers in space. And that will somehow cause the line to go up more. Because space!

I love a theatre (building) nerd. The AD walk through of the Ed Sullivan theater is wonderful.

I thought that making a strung earring would take a lot longer, but the only time intensive part was finding all the bits.

I have to sew tonight, but what if the project just sort of made itself?

We got fancy window fans this year, and the gentle lovely breeze it is sending into the room is actually delightful. And it has some sort of baffle situation so it’s opaque from the outside. A nice breeze, and the neighbors can’t see me doom scrolling. Incredible.

The cat has been getting us up at 5am so she can watch the sunrise, and this is not working for my sleep schedule.

RE: https://sfba.social/@historyofpunkrock/116299386270210435 This is mostly asking if you’re over 50. (4, three of them in the last ten years)

I need to formalize my personal hotel ratings. But generally my perfect room has: - A decent coffee machine with actual cups/mugs and milk or creamer. - Complimentary umbrellas (in places it rains) - A place for two people to sit and eat take out - windows that open - a 24 hour front desk with competent staff. - fits my not-luxurious budget. Best hotel on this scale so far was the Sora Niwa in Kyoto (the regular side, they also offer a 5 star hotel within a hotel that was out of my budget)

It really is kind of hilarious how if someone is a piece of shit, they’re in those emails. (With some caveats around timeframe of public shittiness)

I am almost finished the costume that needs to be in my car by 8am tomorrow. And now I have to pack and check my other costumes. And I have to sleep because I’m driving 8 hours. This is a disaster.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@bruces/116063334157592092 “how to maximize our one truly scarce resource: human time and attention.” Humans aren’t scarce. No one thinks this. Engineers are paid more than the capital class wants to pay. And they would like writing code to become unskilled labor. AI doesn’t really do that, you have to know what you want and how you want it to work, but the fiction is selling AI and I just want people to say what they mean.

At a nerd con with friends, and this afternoon I managed to go about two hours in costume before I realized I was missing my giant piece of shoulder armor. I only clued in when I noticed I wasn’t so wide as to cause problems in crowds, which is what happens when I remember the armor.
