    it is taking every bone in my body to force myself to wait several hours for this Apple Time Capsule archive to complete over USB 2.0 instead of ripping the thing apart, putting both HDDs in a different computer , and using dd. (repost from priv)

    ok this is so cool. this LED manufacturer designed maybe the coolest demo brochure possible for their COB LEDs, its a ringed binder where each of the pages is a PCB that you plug in and can control via touch to toggle which strips are on :o #electronics

    Since 2003, image editors such as Adobe Photoshop CS or PaintShop Pro 8 refuse to print banknotes. According to Wired.com, the banknote detection code in these applications, called the Counterfeit Deterrence System (CDS), was designed by the Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group and supplied to companies such as Adobe as a binary module. source

    hai to all hardware hackers/u-boot knowers !!! (boosts appreciated) a firmware update killed my embedded device (powerpc 40x) and now it wont boot, but i managed to get to a uboot (v1.0.0) console over serial and discovered that the memory-mapped area of flash where the linux ramdisk image is supposed to be is just FULL of FFs. i know the flash isnt totally cooked because i was able to run saveenv and it does persist , but is it possible that only SOME of the sectors could be broken somehow? non...
