it is taking every bone in my body to force myself to wait several hours for this Apple Time Capsule archive to complete over USB 2.0 instead of ripping the thing apart, putting both HDDs in a different computer , and using dd. (repost from priv)

update : i couldnt help myself and i opened the time capsule, breaking the fan connector in the process. so i had to resolder that , that was fun. and now im dding it. if i can get this done in the next few hours (and i didnt destroy the device) it will still have been worth it over waiting
