When I was a kid, I started collecting Avengers comic books and, in issue 152, they fought a guy who raised a zombie army, among them the long-dead Wonder Man, but in the story they referred to them as "zuvembies" and at the time I just assumed that was some dumb archaic alternate spelling but it turns out the explanation is far stupider than that.

This was a weird period in Avengers history, the writing was oft-clunky and they were in a seemingly constant turnover/rotation of artists, and the membership was in flux after the Scarlet Witch and the Vision went on their honeymoon. Just because it was my formative period with the title, I've always had an affinity for the boiled-down transition core membership, which was just Thor, Iron Man and Hawkeye, even though that was only for a little bit.
