With the POTS network being shut down in the nordics I have spent a weekend researching VoIP boxes. These boxes allow you build a plain old telephone system at home. Cisco ATA 186 is my primary target. So far i have rebuilt the cfg and flashing tools in pure python as well as built a dissassembly of the firmware images ranging from 1998 - 2015. If you need to fix a bug in firmware level you can do it yourself. If you have a ATA box you can enjoy this pile of code here https://github.com/kugg/ATA-tools

@Kugg@infosec.exchange I remember in the 80s in our house (villa) i could tap the old rotary phone in the kitchen: 1 *pause* 6 times and the phone in dads room would ring - voila' Instant private phone system @home. No VoIP boxes required 😄
