Woke up this morning and damn #postcovid "crustiness" has started latching on to my lower right eyelid again. Have to rub it off every time or else it gets worse and worse and eventually i have to pry my eyelids open in the morning... The problem is that if something (that feels like small shards of broken glass cutting into my eyes) gets lose and i don't remove it so it falls into the eye, i'm in for 1-2 hours of annoying crap in my eye and i have to keep the eye closed so wh...

Cool - just realised that i don't need my new steam box connected to my TV, i can just use remote play and connect to it over LAN, so i can play games on my ordinary box but with better graphics.

Postcovid also getting worse. Eyes itch light sensitivity grit in my eyeballs (ANNOYING AS FUCK), scratches the cornea during the night and you can FEEL IT when you move your eyeballs around itchy eyes, yes the whole socket feels like it's itching. eyelids are glued shut in the morning and you have to open them up manually dry eyes that requires moisturising with water and light halos around light sources at night. 1 out of 10 that get Post Covid problems get these kinds of eye proble...

Had been planning to swap my old 1070 TI GPU for a 3070 TI GPU, read up on power consumption etc, but i forgot about one thing: The need to sanitise my games puter from dust. Basically the thing has been standing still sucking up dustbunnies a few years before Covid, and now it's too late in the evening to start vacuming the box. Ahwell, guess I'll can to do that tomorrow. At least i also can throw out that hybrid HDD/SSD drive and shove in a proper M2 drive that got left over after up...

Anyone know how to forcibly prevent VMWare workstation from time synching with the host? In the Options, it is unchecked to "synch time with host", but the damn thing synchs anyway every time i resume a VM.

Scene: Post Apoc survivors walk into a datacenter, they look through various VMs that are still running for clues on civilization as it was and to see what people used all this powerful data machines for. One survivor logs into a windows 10 VM. He looks at the screen for a while, puzzled, then turns his head and asks another survivor: "What the hell is progress quest"? #progressquest

So... another post of "buying a genuine Nihon-to katana"... A swordsmith born late in one century could not have made a Sword 100 years earlier. A blade attributed to a legendary swordsmith that costs a fraction of other blades from the same smith is a warning sign. It is simply too cheap to be real. A seller going to lengths to try to convince you that the swords "Mei" (signature under the handle) is real sounds desperate. It may be a good deal - it may be a scam. I try t...
