I stumbled over this very interesting open source project "unitext" which supports rendering native emojis in Unity. Built a quick demo to test it: https://deml.io/experiments/unity-emoji-test/2026-03-04/ I'm very impressed on it properly supporting emojis even though I have never heared anything from the dev / studio before.
