Home nas/storage users how do you handle backups? I have a truenas sitting in the garage hosting important personal files (photos, music, etc). Sure I can have another one elsewhere (garden office probably) but I don’t really want another thing running 24/7. Maybe there’s no option but what do you do?

@Wifiwits@infosec.exchange back the NAS periodically to a massive usb hard drive, and stash that well offsite. I have 3 in rotation so if there's an issue I can go back a few months and lose some stuff, but not all. For me that's mainly coverage against fire or burglary. Altho to be fair, I do also have the NAS backing up to another NAS.... I dunno that it's running 24x7 per-se, as it's usually in sleep mode, but it is powered on!
