@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer @mer@yourwalls.today I think it's a ritual en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombo.co… a single-serving parody website created in 1999 by Josh Levine (online as "Zblofu") as a joke on the flashy, pointless Flash intro screens that were common on late-1990s websites. It takes that concept to an absurd extreme: the page is just one long, looping intro animation with a booming voiceover endlessly promising that "you can do anything at Zombo.com," with no actual content behind it, just an occasional invitation to sign up for a broken "newZletter."
